{"id":7507,"date":"2015-10-13T15:29:30","date_gmt":"2015-10-13T06:29:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/arakawagins.noor.jp\/2020agtokyo?p=7507"},"modified":"2022-01-14T14:54:17","modified_gmt":"2022-01-14T05:54:17","slug":"re-play-1972-2015%e2%80%95restaging-expression-in-film-72","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.architectural-body.com\/?p=7507&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Re: play 1972\/2015\u2015Restaging \u201cExpression in Film &#8217;72\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3277\" src=\"http:\/\/arakawagins.noor.jp\/2020agtokyo\/wp-content\/uploads\/replaytenrankai-1.jpg\" alt=\"replaytenrankai-1\" width=\"500\" height=\"707\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.architectural-body.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/replaytenrankai-1.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.architectural-body.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/replaytenrankai-1-300x424.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.architectural-body.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/replaytenrankai-1-420x593.jpg 420w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the 1960s and the 1970s, artists \u201cdiscovered,\u201d and explored the possibility of film and video as mediums of reconsidering creation and presentation of works.<\/p>\n<p>By restaging the 5th Exhibition of Contemporary Plastic Art: Expression in Film \u201972 \u2013 Thing, Place, Time, Space \u2013 Equivalent Cinema, which was first held 43 years ago in 1972 at the Kyoto Municipal Museum of Art, we introduce a sampling of the film and video expressions that were being created by plastic artists between the late 1960s to the mid-1970s.<\/p>\n<p>The original Expression in Film \u201972 exhibition, featuring 16 artists, did not make use of a theater format in which viewers sat in the dark and viewed the works. It was instead a pioneering event that explored the potential of the moving image using an exhibition format in which viewers moved freely through the space and viewed multiple works that were shown at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>Given that some works have vanished, and that technology as well as our own values have changed over the last 43 years, it would be impossible for the 2015 edition to be exactly the same as the 1972 original.
