Nagoya City Art Museum, opened on April 22, 1988, and is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The museum accumulated 2,106 pieces within its first ten years, which increased to 4,332 pieces in the museum’s 20th year. As of March 31, 2018, the number of artworks in the collection had reached 6,278. To mark its 30th anniversary, the museum is exhibiting selected pieces from its collection in temporary exhibition galleries that showcase the history of its collected works.
